Our Vision

Our vision for the future is guided by the decisions and strategies that have put Montefiore on a path of growth that is unique among hospitals in New York City and nationwide. Our admissions have increased steadily. As a nonprofit institution, we are proud of our solid financial situation, which enables us to invest in the future. As we move forward, we are planning developments that will strengthen our delivery of extraordinary healthcare to patients and confirm our place among the leading medical institutions in the country.

 

New treatment centers

Montefiore will continue to expand our areas of expertise and the procedures and treatments we offer. Our Transplant Center and Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery  are recent examples of our responsiveness to patient needs—and our ability to attract highly talented and committed doctors and support staff.

More state-of-the-art facilities

Montefiore will continue to invest in expansion, renovation and improvement of our facilities to accommodate new treatment centers, increase convenience for our patients and maintain our commitment to providing state-of-the-art healthcare.

Expanded health information systems

Over the past decade, Montefiore has invested more than $125 million in information systems, making us a national leader in developing innovative applications of technology to medicine. We are one of the very few hospitals in the country to be 100-percent computerized for ordering prescription drugs and tests, and for reporting the results. We have more than one million patient charts in our electronic system. We will continue to enhance the efficiency of our information systems and their powerful potential to improve the quality of healthcare and disease management.

Ever-higher standards in customer care

Montefiore has made improving customer care a top priority, and we demonstrate daily that we understand service as completely and skillfully as we know how to diagnose and treat. We will continue to raise the bar on our performance in customer care, to ensure that we not only meet our patients’ expectations but go well beyond them.
