Among many exciting developments at the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore, we are constructing a new building as part of our expanded substance abuse treatment program. Recent developments and studies here at Montefiore indicate that this drug-free/methadone maintenance initiative is the most successful opiate substitute program for eliminating cravings for drugs.

Additionally, our ongoing research continues to break new ground with new treatments for disorders such as anxiety and depression. Our team has helped countless patients overcome obsessive compulsive and sleep disorders through cognitive behavioral interventions. By studying cutting edge therapies such as this, we continue to address challenges associated with various disorders. Our discoveries are then utilized to enhance our clinical services.

Montefiore extends its vast expertise and unique opportunities to its residents and fellows at the renowned Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM). Through highly specialized education and research endeavors, we continue to train the next generation of physicians to confront the obstacles associated with a wide range of psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.
